Eczema rash treatment

Eczema is an irritated and sensitised skin condition that causes the skin to itch, redden and feel dry or rough.

There are several types of eczema:

• atopic eczema
• seborrheic eczema
• asteatotic eczema
• discoid eczema
• irritant contact dermatitis

What worsens eczema rash?

Eczema rash is often worsened by irritating products such as overly strong soaps and perfumed creams, or sulphate-containing soaps, as well as stress.

Cold seasons, dry indoor air, itchy or rough clothes, and an imbalanced skin microbiome can also worsen symptoms.

Home care for eczema-prone skin

The most important aspect of caring for eczema-prone skin is gentle home care. Daily washing is recommended, as it removes irritants such as dirt, sweat, and bacteria from your skin that can aggravate eczema.

Use a mild and moisturising soap for washing, such as Saaren Taika Tea Tree Soap, which does not dry out or irritate the skin. After washing, use a moisturising and itch-soothing cream, such as Saaren Taika Chamomile Shea Butter, which you can apply to the itchy area as often as desired. Avoid factors that worsen eczema.
